Antonio Chincarini arrived from Lake Garda, Verona, Italy in 1950 and settled in the Epping area. Antonio's timber craftsman skills learnt in his native country were immediately put to use. In the late 1950s, Antonio commenced business from his garage making and supplying timber products for the local building industry. With increased demand for his services, Antonio moved to the disused milking sheds in Childs Road,

In 1965, Antonio reallocated this flourishing business to the current site at the cnr of Cooper and Duffy Streets, Epping. The business was registered and "EPPING TIMBER JOINERY & HARDWARE Co.Pty Ltd" came into being. Epping Timber became the first timber establishment in the area and only the third industry in Epping. It was at this time that Caterina Chincarini became involved and to this day, she continues to play a major part in the direction and guidance of Epping Timber Joinery & Hardware.
